Alexander (Alex) Frame is full professor in Communication Studies at the Languages and Communication Faculty of the University of Burgundy (uB, Dijon, France), where he set up and runs the MA course in Intercultural Management. Born in Britain, he graduated from the University of Oxford in 1998, before settling in France, qualifying as an English teacher, and then completing his PhD in 2008, at uB, specialised in intercultural communication. He is a member of the TIL (“Texte, Image, Language”) research group (EA 4182), where he specialises in intercultural communication, linked notably to the way individuals seek to make meaning in interpersonal encounters, referring to various identities associated with diverse cultural repertoires. He applies this to a variety of social settings and objects, including organisations, digital forms of communication, discourse around migration, and European identities. He has published over 70 academic articles and books on these questions, adopting an interpretivist / postmodern stance on interculturality applied to contemporary globalised and digitalised society (https://u-bourgogne.academia.edu/AlexFrame). More recent publications focus on the ways in which everyday, often mediated communications, which take place on the micro-social level, can be used to give insights into macro-level cultural change in the global “sémioscape”. Dr. Lixian Jin is Chair Professor in Applied Linguistics and Dean of Faculty of Humanities and social Sciences at City University of Macau, after being Chair Professor and having worked as a Research Centre Director and Head of School of English at UK universities for nearly 30 years. She has supervised many MA, MSc and PhD students. She has been awarded research grants and led many international research teams to study intercultural communication in leadership and business contexts and to explore clinical assessment tools for children speaking Gujarati, Chinese and Malay. She has developed qualitative research methods – metaphor analysis and narrative analysis to explore insights from participants. She has produced College English textbook series for Chinese HE learners as editor and writer: Creative Reading, Creative Communication, Creative Writing for Macmillan and SFLEP and Teachers’ books for New Standard College English and New Horizon College English for Macmillan and FLTRP; as well as translated a series of children picture books into English. She has given hundreds of keynote speeches in international conferences around the world. Her over 200 publications focus on researching cultures of learning, intercultural communication, metaphor and narrative analysis and bilingual clinical assessments.
She is an executive editor for International Journal of Language and Communication Disorders; and editor and reviewer for other international journals and Funding Research Councils. prof. dr hab. Teresa Sasińska-Klas
Sociologist and political scientist. Founder and director of the International School of Journalism of the Jagiellonian University (1995 – 1998), then founder of the Institute of Journalism, Media and Social Communication of the Jagiellonian University, professionally associated with it since its inception (1998). She deals with research issues related to relations: media and politics, political socialization, public opinion, political communication, media education. Currently employed as a professor at the Collegium of Media and Communication at the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszów. Visiting professor in the USA, Canada, Germany, Austria and Hungary. Scholarship holder at The Johns Hopkins University, School for Advanced International Studies, Bologna Center – 1982/1983, Italy. Recipient of NATO-Fellowship (1994-1996). Kościuszko Foundation Scholarship holder at the College of Journalism, University of Maryland – 1996, USA. Member of the Executive Committee of the International Political Science Association in the term 2009-2012. Then Vice-President (IPSA) for Europe and Africa and Chair: Committee of Procedures and Awards in the term 2012 – 2014. She has presented papers at international conferences and congresses in the following countries: USA, Canada, Germany, Austria, Spain, Netherlands, Great Britain, Russia, Ukraine, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Latvia, Greece, Slovenia, Luxembourg, Italy, Chile, Tunesia, India and many national conferences. Danijela Vuković-Ćalasan, PhD (e-mail: danijelacalasan@ucg.ac.me ) is an Associate professor at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Montenegro in Podgorica, Montenegro. She teaches courses on Political theory, Political culture, Globalization, Ethnicity and ethnic relations and Human rights of minority groups. Her scientific field of interest includes minority rights, ethnic and national relations and identities, antiromaism, ethnocultural pluralism governing, globalization and contemporary political theories. She has recently published papers about historical dimension od antiromaism in Montenegro and about factors in national self-designation of Slavic Muslims in the Montenegrin Sandžak. She has given lectures on several European universities, including Charles University, University of Milano-Bicocca, University of Cádiz, University of Iceland and Jagiellonian University.
